So it was Jared’s first day of work today. I know he worked for the church for the last year but I guess we both feel like he has a job for the first time in the “real” world. You know…8 to 5 every weekday rather than a scattered schedule. Anyway, it turned out to be quite a first day. We have one car that is currently working and we had it all figured out how we
could do the car thing on his first day! I guess I should have known it wasn’t going to go well when I dropped him off late…oops (it was my fault). I drove the van back, went on a run, and then tried to go babysit and of course, the car wouldn’t start. Aaargh!!!! I called the mom and she dropped her daughter off. I didn’t know how I was going to go pick up Jared at lunch so he could take the car. While I was babysitting, the power went out and the alarm went off! It stared the little girl pretty bad. When it finally stopped raining, I took her out for a walk. Without any warning, it started storming again which freaked the little girl out again! WHEN IS THIS MORNING GOING TO BE OVER. I called a ton of people and none of them answered (trying to find someone to pick Jared up). Finally, the mom came and picked up her daughter and I went out to try to start the car! IT STARTED!!!! I went to pick up Jared so he could take the car and we tried to find a ride for me for work in the afternoon. Of course, Jared was my rescuer and found Dave to pick me up! Thanks again, Dave. All this, and I didn’t even end up going to work!
Moral of the story: Hmm…stop making plans (they usually don’t work out for Jared and me anyway!) he he! That’s a good moral but probably the best one is to not freak out because God’s in control!

I wake up to the “chirpy” sound of my cell phone alarm clock, and press snooze as fast as I can. (both so I can snooze and so I don’t wake up Becca.) A few more chirps and snoozes and I’m up, kiss Becca on the forehead and head down to take a shower. A nice hot shower to get the blood flowin’ then colder to actually wake me up, hopefully dressed and out the door by 7:30. If I’m lucky… like today, I left my car down town, I grab my trusty bag and the long board that I stole from my brother. Slightly down hill and about 8 blocks later I roll through at-least one red light and up to the Java Roaster, I’m greeted by Kevin or Parker who ask if I want the usual? Small dark roast for a buck and a quarter. After one or two Psalms and one or two refills, it’s usually about 8-am and who knows where the day will go from there… but it’s been a good morning.

Well…I really should be cleaning the house right now but I’m not. I was researching malaria on the internet and found this picture. Yeah, it is definitely a Jared comic. Ok…ok, I’ll go clean the house now!

Last Wednesday afternoon I started to get Malaria fevers, and by the time I received treatment for it on Saturday night I was pretty far gone, (I’m told I could have been dead on Sunday… wow, eh.) Praise God for taking care of Becc and I, and Thank you! to all the many friends who were praying for us! Praise God again for friends who will get me a cake for Malaria! I am on my way back to health, and glad to be alive. God is Good!

I am really hoping to get this new job at the hospital. I had an interview yesterday. I don’t really know if it went too well. Time will let me know! God is in control and sometimes that’s hard to remember especially if you feel you can’t go on if he took something away or left you with what you have now. I’ll just have to remember I Corinthians 10:13.

Over spring break I had the awesome opportunity to “gut” houses all week long! It was a quality week, and a huge blessing to work hard along side brothers and sisters in Christ. In the demolition process I got a little bit crazy sometimes… God in his mercy kept me and the rest of the team from any major injury =) (good thing I had my tetanus shots though.
Once I figure out how to upload more pictures and or video, you will have to check it out.

Van in Snow!
The Van doesn’t like the snow… Good thing it’s almost gone.

Well, it’s my first post. Jared wrote one but got frustrated and deleted it so I decided to give it a whirl. Jared decided, “I just want it to do what I want.” I enjoy trying to figure these things out. It’s like trying to find a treasure and it involves organizing! Yoohoo! That’s why we go together. I like to organize and Jared reaps the benefits. Hmm…No he does a whole ton of other things too (like cook me dinner)!
